Dan Marino: A Record Meant To Be Broken

Dan Marino, arguably the best quarterback to ever play the game, is still the holder of the NFL single-season passing yardage record despite the many rule changes and countless years that have surpassed. A staggering 5,084 yards is the number that Marino threw for in 1984 as the starting quarterback... Continue reading "Dan Marino: A Record Meant To Be Broken" »

Is Tony Sparano's Job Safe Going Into the Bye Week?

Can The Miami Dolphins Come Back From an 0-3 Start Against The Chargers?

The Miami Dolphins have alot of ground to make up. With 3 losses in a row and a record of 0-3 to start the 2011-2012 season, there is not much they can ask for besides a win.

Chad Henne has 4 touchdowns and 842 yards, but despite his best efforts to bring his team to a W, he is still winless.

The Chargers have had a pretty darn good start to their season, with a opening game win against the Vikings and a win in Kansas City in week 3. Their only loss of the season came against Tom Brady and his firey offense.

Phillip Rivers and Chad Henne have been said to be similar quarterbacks and it should be an interesting matchup tomorrow.

Rivers stacks up with 4 touchdowns, 6 interceptions and a total of 979 yards. Henne's interception numbers put him on top with only 3 but with over a 100 yards less in the passing department on has to wonder which of the two will come out swinging.

Despite what the numbers say there are a few things to watch out for. The first would hands down be Chad Henne against the Chargers pass rush. Henne needs pass protection, and needs to hope that his offensive line can protect him from being sacked.

The second thing that everyone should prepare to watch out for is dolphins wide reciever Brandon Marshall who, thanks to an injured Quentin Jammer, will be matched up with rookie Marcus Gilchrist. This may be the game that we see Marshall go wild.

Lastly Dolphins head coach Tony Soprano versus Chargers Norv Turner former Offensive Coordinator for the Dolphins during the 2002-2003 season. Turner will have to change his came up since star tight end Antonio Gates is listed inactive for week 4, and is not expected to be seen on the field until after the Chargers week 7 bye.

If the Dolphins have a shot at getting their first win of the season they will need to take advantage of the loop holes that the Chargers are left with.
