Winter Meetings 2011--Cleveland Indians
If another American League team signs Yoenis Cespedes, the Cleveland Indians can counter by signing Orlando Cepeda. They need a first baseman and Cepeda could probably fall out of bed and get an extra base hit.
Did anyone notice that the lowly Los Angeles Dodgers have taken a page out of the Indians playbook? They are signing second and third tier free agents. Can players returning from injury and needing a one year contract to reestablish their value be far behind? What about spring training invitees?
If no one else is interested in Carlos Lee other than the Indians, maybe the share that the Astros will pay will go out so much that the Tribe can afford him.
