Truck driver suspended

NASCAR announced on Tuesday that NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, Jack Smith, has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR competition because of substance abuse, citing section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and section 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2011 rule book.

Smith competed in six Truck Series races in 2011, with a best finish of 11th at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Overall, he has made 17-career starts in the series. The most recent suspension is the second for Smith. He was suspended last season after being arrested for attempting to fraudulently obtain a controlled substance.
