No Thanks on Thanksgiving For The Dolphins

Reggie-bush-dolphins-300x168Sadly this Thanksgiving the Miami Dolphins couldn't be thankful for a fourth straight win.

The Dolphins defense did play their game well this time around, picking off Dallas quarterback Tony Romo twice.Tony Romo hadn't thrown an interception in November before two picks in the first quarter. However, the problem was the Dolphins had to settle for too many field goals and lost 20-19 on Dan Bailey's 28-yard field goal as time expired on Thanksgiving Day to end their three-game winning streak.

Tony Sparano was overall happy with his teams performance. "It doesn't come down to the end of the game, but we did play our hearts out," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. "It ended up being field goals kind of back and forth, and at the end of the game there, they made a couple of plays more than we did. Up until that point, it was a pretty good give and take."

The Dolphins now 3-8 had to settle for field goals on all four times they got inside the Cowboys 10 yard line, and got their only touchdown when Brandon Marshall made an impressive 35-yard catch, despite cornerback Terence Newman's attempt to grab him around the neck and bring him down, in the third quarter.

For the Dolphins, Matt Moore was 19 for 32 with 288 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Marshall was the teams leading receiver with 5 receptions for a total of 103 yards. Reggie Bush had a decent day with 61 yards on 16 carries.

On the Dallas side, Tony Romo threw for 226 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Their leading rusher was DeMarco Murray who finished with 87 yards. On the receiving side Laurent Robinson led the team with 79 yards on 7 catches.

Despite a loss for the Dolphins, and a likely end to their possible spark of hope for the playoffs, one can likely safely predict a few more W's for them before the end of the season. Nobody can predict where they will end up in the W's versus L's or whether Tony Sparano can be thankful for the wins and hope to keep his job, but what we can predict is that the Dolphins are a new team and its exciting to watch.

Up next for Moore and the Dolphins are the Oakland Raiders (6-4 ) on December 4th.
