“Biggest Loser” Picking Up Steam as Sensibility Overcomes Love
Boy is Ramon gonna be pissed.
His sweetheart, Jessica got sent home from the competition.
A soap opera?
No, reality television.
On the 12th season of the show, “The Biggest Loser,” lovelorn Ramon watched as competitors from other teams sent home his sweetie, Jessica, by a 4-2 margin, saving Bonnie.
Man, Jessica did not seem too upset, as she went home and worked out with members of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But something’s gonna happen, because the Biggest Loser kicks the Bachelor’s butt, when it comes to marriages and engagements.
Former contestants Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston, from Season 2, got married and had two children.
Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson, of Season 9, got engaged at the season’s live finale.
Now Ramon and Jessica.
As far as reality shows go, this one is the most real.
Yeah, the contestants are in a bubble, on the ranch, with no contact from the outside and eat healthy and workout every day.
But as you watch the show, you understand, like life, the season is a journey of discovery of one’s self, or finding a soul mate, occasionally.
On Tuesday, Nov. 1 episode, teams were switched and most of the players got new trainers.
None could be more happy than Bonnie, the 63-year old contestant from the switch in trainers.
Bonnie went from Anna to Dolvett as her trainer.
Anna Kournikova, the most well known trainer outside the realm of the show, showed that given the right mix of contestants (a over 50, 40 year and 20 year old), she could win a weigh in.
But she doesn’t do well with seniors, if you are to believe Bonnie.
The more Bonnie sweated, the more she smiled, as a light bulb went off in her head.
Her dead husband, living longer for her grandchildren, all that hit her as she cried after the workout.
Dolvett was kicking Bonnie’s butt, but he has the wherewithal to know that he had to coddle her soul, not her spirit.
One of my favorite parts of the season is when the contestants make it to Makeover week.
I can only hope that Ramon makes it to that week and that Jessica, only Jessica, comes to see her new man.
