World Series Game 4 Prediction
As I wrote in my World Series Selection article, I think the St Louis Cardinals will win it all. They now have a 2-1 lead, which would have been 3-0 had they not blown a 9th inning lead in game 2.
Sunday night is game 4, and Texas's back is pretty close to the wall. They need to win tonight, and they probably will. They are a heavy favorite though, and there is no way I would back them at -170.
Everyone expected the games in Texas to be high scoring. The Ranger's ballpark is a hitters field. There is a well known jet stream that flows out to right field, and sends fly balls into the stands.
The weather is still warm in Texas, and conditions are favorable to hitting. Both lineups are stacked with players who hit with power. And tonight, neither starting pitcher is especially intimidating.
Edwin Jackson gets the start for St Louis, and in his last 3 starts, his ERA is 5.84. For Texas, it is Derek Holland who gets the nod, and his ERA for the last 3 is 5.83.
The addition of the DH for the games in Texas adds to the expectation of slugfests. Game 3 was a 16-7 affair, and maybe Sunday night won't get that far out of hand, I still do think we will see more offense than pitching. The Over/Under is currently 10, which I believe is too low.
The Pick:
***** Take Over 10 runs, in Game 4 of the World Series
