Packers' Remaining Schedule
Packers’ Remaining Schedule From Most Difficult to Least Difficult:
11/6/11 - @ San Diego
11/24/11 - @ Detroit
12/4/11 - @ New York (Giants)
10/23/11 - @ Minnesota
11/20/11 - Tampa Bay
12/11/11 - Oakland
12/25/11 - Chicago
11/14/11 - Minnesota
1/1/11 – Detroit
12/18/11 - @ Kansas City
10/16/11 - St. Louis
The Giants and Bucs were looking very impressive coming into this week. Both were 3-1. But the Giants lost at home to the lowly Seahawks and the Bucs were slaughtered by the 49ers. However, I still think Tampa and New York are very good. I’ll put San Diego as the toughest team on the Packers’ remaining schedule, followed by the Giants and Buccaneers.
Oakland and Detroit: I’m still trying to figure out whether or not they’re for real. On the other hand, Minnesota, Chicago, Kansas City and St. Louis are all .500 or below so I’ll consider them the weaker opponents for now. However, I am still so afraid of Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen that I put the Packers game at Minnesota as the fourth toughest remaining game. Personally, I think that Donovan McNabb still has something left in him, and the Metrodome is always loud and tough to play in. So I’m not sleeping on the Vikings.
Also, I’m putting the Thanksgiving game at Detroit as the second toughest remaining game, because I think the Lions will put it all on the line, knowing that beating the defending champs on a national stage would legitimize them as a real contender. And I’m sure that crowd will be rocking and showing their appreciation for everything the Lions accomplished early this season.
Of the three home division games the Packers have remaining, I’m putting Chicago as the toughest, because in the Packer/ Bear rivalry home field advantage doesn’t always mean a whole lot. Any time Green Bay plays Chicago I just expect a hard fought game. I’m putting the home game against Detroit as the easiest, because, while I think the Lions might be for real, I don’t expect them, with their lack of experience, to come into Lambeau in January and beat the defending champs.
