Mike Wallace in No. 33 Truck at Talladega

As Kevin Harvick Inc. and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular Ron Hornaday continues to drive the No. 2 truck for KHI in Saturday’s Coca-Cola 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, Mike Wallace joins the organization to drive the No. 33 truck, previously driven by Hornaday, this weekend.

“I am very excited about the chance to race for KHI, especially when I’m going to be racing a truck that I know has an opportunity to win again,” Wallace said. “Hornaday is back in the run for another championship, so I think we’ll be able to work together and help him along as well and hopefully accomplish a sweep for KHI this weekend.”

Wallace, currently a regular competitor in the Nationwide Series, has 36-career NASCAR starts at Talladega, four of those in Truck Series competition. Those four races include a top-five finish.

This weekend’s race will be Wallace’s first truck race of 2011. In 114 previous Truck Series races, Wallace has to his credit four wins, 32 top-fives and 55 top-10 finishes. He raced full-time in the series from 1998 to 2000.

Hornaday has driven the No. 33 truck most of the season before moving over to the No. 2 truck a couple of races ago to keep that truck in contention for the series owner’s championship as the Truck Series raced in events away from the Sprint Cup Series. Until Hornaday took over the ride, a variety of Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series drivers, including team owner Kevin Harvick, took turns driving the No. 2.

Cale Gale drove the No. 33 truck the past two races.
