Let's Get Flyered Up for the 2011-12 NHL Season
The Philadelphia Flyers had an eventful off-season post the early exit of last year’s playoffs. Gone are Jeff Carter and Mike Richards; in is hockey legend Jaromir Jagr.
As the regular season starts Thursday night versus the evil Boston Bruins the question for all Flyers fans is, “Are the Flyers a better team this year”? & “can the Flyers compete for the Stanley Cup”?
The answer to both of these questions is yes. To me the Flyers will be a solid team from top to bottom with the added feature of having a player who can score at anytime from anywhere.
He will be a huge asset on the power play, during 4-on-4 overtime play and in shootouts. How many points do the Flyers give up last year because they couldn’t score in a shootout?
New Team Captain Chris Pronger will lead a solid defense which will give the Flyer the chance to win every game. Look to Pronger to flourish as the team captain.
