How Could You Not Root For Monster Man Marshall
For the Miami Dolphins, who remain winless thus far this season, heading into week 6 against the New York Jets, having a man on their team who is ready to burst out the gates with a monster attitude is the best thing they have going for them.
Brandon Marshall is a man on a mission this week. A mission that will hopefully lead the winless Dolphins to a score in the win column. Marshall is a self proclaimed monster. "If y'all think I'm still the beast or washed up, I consider myself a monster now," he said. "I don't want to be a beast anymore. I want to be a monster.
Marshall is determined to make this game different than the previous games. "If it's throwing a ball 15 yards into the bleachers or punting the ball, I'm probably going to get kicked out in the second quarter."
Marshall's most recent twitter post has him calling Monday Night Football, "Monster Monday Night" and according to NFL.com and the associated press, Marshall is prepared to get in a fight with Jets linebacker Bart Scott and cornerback Antonio Cromartie. "I'm best when I play emotional, I'm best when I play with passion, and you guys are going to see that on Monday Night Football."
For Marshall there is nothing he plans on doing other than winning the game. "If that's what it takes to get the season going."
The Dolphins are not the only ones who are in search of a must needed win. Both the Colts and the Rams still have yet to hit a win.
What is the matchup between the Fins and the Jets look like going into Monday night?
The Dolphins are coming off a bye week and are hoping that quarterback Matt Moore can come out with an equally tough attitude as Marshall. Moore's numbers in his single appearance of the season are 17 of 26 with 167 yards. Not awful, but not good enough. Moore is expected to be looking to Marshall for some major help.
The Jets have had their own trouble in the past few games and have lost the last 3 contests they have been in. For Mark Sanchez, this is either a game of redemption, or a game that may make for his fourth loss a little bit more bitter than the rest, especially since they are playing their division rivals.
Mark Sanchez has thrown for 1171 yards and has 8 touchdowns on the season, but is plagued with 5 interceptions and a troubled offense. The Jets will also be playing without Derrick Mason Monday night.
Can we expect the Dolphins to come out on fire? I think one can only hope that all the Monster Man hype of Brandon Marshall proves to be worth it.
