Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears Moved to 4:15PM

Detroitlions

The NFL and its TV partners have decided to move the showdown between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears on November 6 from a 1pm start time to a 4:15pm start time (times of course are for us Lions fans in the Eastern Time zone). It gives the Lions a spot in sort of prime time, even though a move to the Sunday Night game on NBC would be a better move. NBC will keep its New England Patriots versus the New York Jets match up and I think we can all understand why.

They will keep that game of course because of the market size of New York and Boston. That game is sure to do big numbers on that, even though we could argue that the Bears at 4-3 before a Monday Night game against at the Philadelphia Eagles. If they win that game, they would be 5-3 and the Lions would enter this game at 6-2. Therefore, the winner of this game will likely go a long way in determining who wins a spot in the playoffs via the wild card.

Of course having the Bears in Primietime TV twice in the same week may have also been a factor at play here.
