Cowboys No Choice but to Beat Eagles
If you think that DeMarco Murray’s 253 yards last week was a fluke then you are not thinking like the Cowboys. The Cowboys cut veteran RB Tashard Choice yesterday leaving rookies Murray and Phillip Tanner to carry the load against the Eagles.
It’s clear from this move that the Cowboys think that they have found their fresh pair of legs to keep their offense moving while RB Felix Jones misses another game with injury.
The Cowboys will need the fresh legs as the Eagles come off of their bye week with the entire team healthy and ready to play. The Eagles under Coach Reid are 12-0 post the bye week. I guess Reid must work his guys too hard or something and they respond well to the week off.
This is a MUST win for both teams no question. If the 2-4 Eagles lose their season is over no question even in a weak NFC East where 10-6 may be good enough to get into the playoffs. If the Eagles lose this week it will take an almost unprecedented collapse of the rest of the NFC while at the same time the Eagles would need to go on a HUGE run to make the playoffs.
This being a home game for the Eagles, where they have yet to win this season, makes it even better for them. Lose in front of this crowd and they may not show up the next home game.
This is also a MUST win for the 3-3 Cowboys. The Cowboys already trail the Giants by a game and they play the hopeless Dolphins this week. Going under .500 and being two full games behind the Giants and the Cowboys season may be over too.
The Cowboys need wins around Halloween and Thanksgiving because wins will be much harder to come by around Christmas.
This should be a fun NBC Sunday Night Football Game. This one may turn into a shootout as Murray and Jackson run down the field. Turnover rules again!
PREDICTION:
Cowboys 35
Eagles 33
