The Embryos’ Prayer by Juliya Kazimirov
We are two frozen embryos, the first stage of life.
We have no names or gender ….
We have no protection against all evil.
We just exist in this dark chilly lab
We want to live!, God have mercy on us !
We are two frozen embryos, the first stage of life,
Alone speechless, with no one to help us.
Our parents left us here long, long time ago
They promise to come back ….will they?
Somehow, we know our mother will!
We are two frozen embryos, the first stage of life.
Please father! We want to live, you are not God!
Don’t sentence us to die here… in the cold!
We want to be in our mother’s warm womb,
Where we will be blessed with the gift of life.
We are two frozen embryos, the first stage of life.
Father, don’t tell Tristan and Brevin that you love them,
When you are making all efforts to kill their brothers.
If you really love them, why don’t you let us live too?
Keep your promise, be the Catholic you claim to be!
We are two frozen embryos, the first stage of life,
Let us live, let us have a name or two,
So we may be your refuge when you grow old
And will dry your tears when you cry
Or clean you up, when you spill your soup.
We are two frozen embryos, the first stage of life
Father, we are afraid, we are trembling with fear
We already know that you can do this to us…...
Why, you may ask? Because no one did this to you
Please God, have mercy on us!
