Will Everyone Shut the F Up About Ryan Howard … and Other Thoughts

I was listening to WIP this week and a caller said that Ryan Howard drove him crazy.

Host Anthony Gargano asked the guy to look at Ryan’s stats.

“This guy’s got 100 RBI for the last six years,” Gargano said. “I know you look at his strikeouts, but you have to look at his whole body of work.”

Not exactly that, but Gargano’s point is that Howard’s average is not the only stat, nor are the strikeouts.

Now Howard has 30 home runs and more than 100 RBI. He is hitting .250 with 30 home runs and 104 RBI.

Sounds like a power hitter to me.

Shut the f up.

Bastardo is a beast

When Vance Worley was pulled from Thursday’s game with a 6-4 lead and one out in the seventh, there were eight outs to be had to preserve the lead.

Brad Lidge got one and walked a batter.

Enter Antonio Bastardo. 

He is just fithy.

He got out of the seventh and pitched the eighth with a spot fastball, nasty breaking ball and pin point control.

Remember the Bridge to Lidge?

Now it is Bastardo to Madson.
