Rangers hit five HRs in 10-3 win

At this point in the season, the Texas Rangers are just trying to stay hot and just maybe grab homefield advantage for the playoffs.  Well, they took steps toward both tonight.  The offense blasted off with five home runs, and the team earned a commanding win over a fading Angels team.

The beginning didn't look like it'd be a commanding win.  Colby Lewis didn't seem to have his command, and he let the Angels have a little too much fun in the early innings.  His offense had put four runs on the board in the 4th, but he let the Angels inch closer in their half of the frame.  Yes, it was only 4-2, but it should not have been that close.  Maybe I'm getting greedy here in late September.

Somehow Colby got through six innings and earned yet another quality start.  But that's such a bogus stat.

Fortunately, the Rangers offense was feeling pretty greedy tonight too.  Ian Kinsler had a 3 for 5 night and stole his 30th base of the season.  He now has two 30/30 (home runs and steals) in his career.  That's hot.  One of Kinsler's hits was a home run, and he wasn't the only one enjoying Anaheim pitching.  Adrian Beltre and Nelson Cruz also each hit one out, and Mike Napoli drove two out to the rockpile in left-centerfield.  Ha ha ha ha ha.  You mad, Scoscia?

Not much more to say about this game other than -  "Hello win column!"  I never get tired of saying that.

KISS: Napoli.  That was some hot stuff right there.

MISS:  I suppose Colby.  Sure, he escaped tonight, but it was the Angels. I don't know if I want him out there against the other playoff teams.
