Keselowski receives award nomination
With an August performance that included NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins at Pocono Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway -- the Pocono win coming just days after sustaining injuries in a hard testing crash at Road Atlanta -- Brad Keselowski has been nominated for August Male Athlete of the Month honors from the United States Sports Academy.
During the month of August, Keselowski finished no worse than third in four Sprint Cup events, beginning the month with a win at Pocono, a runner-up showing at Watkins Glen International, third at Michigan International Speedway, and finishing the month with another win at Bristol.
The USSA honors a male and a female athlete each month and an Athlete of the Year of each gender. Last year’s Athletes of the Year were Spain’s David Villa (soccer) and South Korea’s Yuna Kim (figure skating).
Voting is open to the public. Votes may be cast at

Voting for August ends Sept. 13. Winners of monthly awards are eligible for the year-end award that will be announced in December.
