Yankees Make Baseball History
After losing two straight games to the Oalkand A's, the Yankees realized how important it was to win Thursday's game. Not only did they want to avoid the sweep, but they want to stay within reach of first place.
Down 7 to 1 going into the 4th, the Yanks seemed to be headed towards the sweep. Little did we know there would be 3 grand slams, and 23 more runs scored after the third. All 3 of those grand slams, and 21 of those runs belonged to the Bombers. Cano,Martin, and Granderson are now in the history books as the first trio to hit three grand slams in a single game. Granderson reached another milestone Thursday. His 5 RBI's put him over 100 for the season.
Late in the game, Posada was put into his original positon, second base. He finished the game with a dramatic throw to Swisher, playing first base. Swisher, making the scoop, ended the game in dramatic fasion. The team laughed it off as they walked to the club house knowing that history was made today.
