The Philadelphia Phillies have pulled off a major deal that will perhaps offset the Giants aquisition of Carlos Beltran. The Phils worked out a deal in which they sent four prospects to Houston in exchange for Hunter Pence.
This gives them the right handed bat they were seeking. Pence will play rightfield and should add some needed punch to their playoff lineup.
The bonus for Philly is that they did not give away any high value players or prospects in the deal.
