Cowboys 2011 Pre-Season Home Opener 30 Days Away!

Logo The Cowboys are scheduled to play the Denver Broncos at Cowboys Stadium 30 days from today on Thursday August 11th.  The NFL preseason is set to open in Canton, Ohio with the 2011 Hall of Fame Game on August 7th.  Cowboys Training camp is scheduled to start July 29th.

To say the lockout has been going on forever is now an understatement but that is no longer the issue.  The issue now is how many days are left before games start to be cancelled.  For the Cowboys that number is 30.

The federal magistrate judge who is mediating the labor dispute between NFL owners and players has scheduled another session for July 19th in Minneapolis.  This is only 10 days before the start of camp.   This will leave little or no time for NFL Free Agency which means many players may lose out on big contracts.  I am sure that those players are not happy about that.

Even if things go well I do not believe that both sides would be able to ratify the agreement within 10 days, especially the players.  So at this point look for at least the NFL Hall of Fame Game and the 1st full week of the NFL Pre-Season to be cancelled.

Beyond that is anyone’s guess.
