Pippen backtracks... After the Finals are Over
Former Bulls great Scottie Pippen recently took back his comments about saying Lebron James may be the greatest player ever, a slap in the face to Michael Jordan quite frankly.
It is quite comical that he is doing this only after the fact that James stunk it up in the Finals.
What is funny about Pippen's comments is that he said the comments about Lebron were only giving him props.
When you say that Michael Jordan may be the greatest scorer in NBA history, but James may be the greatest player to ever play the game, that is not just giving props to a player. That is giving someone a status that he(James) has no business earning given that he hasn't even won a title.
You can not be the G.O.A.T. with zero titles on your resume. That is impossible.
So it astounds me that Pippen is only saying now, after the Finals that, "we all know that he's(Jordan) greatest player ever played the game.
The other thing that bothers me is that Pippen said his comments were taken out of context and misocnstrued.
Mr. Pippen, how can you tell people that, "Lebron James may be the greatest player ever to play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved."
There's no way of getting out of that hole. And lets not forget that the real G.O.A.T. was a tremendous defender as well. Not to mention, he was on multiple All-NBA Defensive teams and got Defensive Player of The Year once.
