NFL News: Browns, Dolphins Out Of Burress Sweepstakes
With former NY Giants and Pittsburg Steelers star wide receiver Plaxico Burress out of prison rumors are flying wildly about teams interested in signing the troubled player. However, you can count out the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins.
Browns coach Pat Shurmer had this to say; "I feel like we've got some veteran receivers," he said. "Although they're younger, they've played NFL seasons, so I'm looking forward to working with the guys that we have. I feel like we have a good team to start and move forward with, and that's the way we're gonna approach it."
Also, a source very close to the Dolphins said in no uncertain terms they have no interest in Burress.
Burress is incredibly talented, no question about it. But, he is a risk. Burress is 34 and hasn't played a down in the NFL in over two years. Furthermore, he has always carried baggage. Burress was never known as being a hard worker and was suspended and fined often for violating team rules.
However, you can rest assured that someone will take a chance on him.
