The Marlins took a 1-0 lead in the first as, with two men out, Hanley Ramirez hits a solo home run, his second home run of the season. The Marlins then increased their lead in the sixth as, with the bases loaded, via three straight singles, an infield single by Emilio Bonifacio, a single by Ramirez, sending Bonifacio to second base, and a bloop single by Gaby Sanchez, with Bonifacio stopping at third, and Ramirez stopping at second base, and with one man out, John Buck hits an RBI single, scoring Bonifacio, giving the Marlins a 2-0 lead, while Ramirez and Sanchez would both move up a base, leaving the bases loaded. The Phils then took the lead in the ninth as, with runners on second and third, and with two men out, Jimmy Rollins hits a two-run single, scoring Sardinha, who had earlier singled, then stopped at third on Orr's double, and Orr, who had just doubled, giving the Phils a 5-3 lead, before stopping at second on the throw to home. Michael Dunn received his first blown save of the year as he gave up a run on one hit, while striking out one. Leo Nunez (0-1, 3.38) took the lost as he gave up two runs on three hits, while he struck out one.
