Shame on The Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church USA has decided to ignore the word of God and will allow openly homosexual men and women to be ordained clergymen, deacons, and elders. What a disappointment to the bible believing members of this denomination.
When discussing this matter one must first realize that homosexuals should not be shunned in any church. They should be welcomed with open arms. Before you scream hypocrite, consider this. We all our sinners and no one sin is worse than another. Some people have issues with lying, others stealing, etc. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
The difference is that true Christianity comes with true repentance. Take Jimmy Swaggart's situation some years back. He cheated on his wife in the worst way. But he asked for forgiveness. First from God, then from his wife and family, and then from his congregation. In this current case, the homosexual clergymen, elders, and deacons continue with their sin without repentance. Instead, they continue living in sin and are allowed to lead the church without admitting they are sinning or having to repent for it.
Am I saying that someone that may have sinned by being a homosexual but confesses to it and tries to shun it from their life should be allowed to lead a church? Absolutely. Find me a church leader who has not (and does not) sin. Of course you can not.
The difference is repentance. We are saved by grace, not by works. But when a person blatantly ignores the word of God and continues to sin, they should never be allowed to lead a church. It does not matter what the sin is.
I close with this. Anyone that does not believe that homosexuality is a sin, consider the following verses:
Leviticus 18:22 - You must not have sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman; it is a detestable act.
Leviticus 20:13 - If a man has sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman, the two of them have committed an abomination. They must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.
I Corinthians 6:9-11 - Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals. Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Romans 1:24-27 - Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor their bodies among themselves. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones, and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed in their passions for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
For the person that says these people were born this way I challenge you with this. There is ABSOLUTELY NO proven evidence to support that. And, every human being is tempted in their own way and has their own sin lives that they struggle with. Those that struggle with homosexuality need to repent of their sins and go and sin no more.
Shame on you Presbyterian Church! For members and clergy reading this, go back to the word of God and the word of God alone. Let the bible be your guide and remember that you are a Christian first and a Presbyterian second.
