NFL News; Former Cowboy Springs Dead At 54

With the NFL lockout in full swing it seems like the only football news is bad these days. Either stories of players clashing with the law or court rulings keeping football away from us have dominated the NFL landscape. Now, sadly, we have more bad news to report; former Dallas Cowboys running back Ron Springs is dead at the far too young age of 54.

Springs had been in a coma since losing oxygen during a 2007 surgery.

Former teammate Everson Walls, who donated a kidney to Springs, had this to say: 

"We are people of faith, and we never gave up hope that he would regain consciousness," he said. "He seemed to be holding his own. They say he just took a breath and he flat-lined."
