NFL News; Falcons To Be Next Team On Hard Knocks?

It seems like the Atlanta Falcons may be the next participant on the highly popular HBO series Hard Knocks. For those not familiar with it, the show covers an NFL team each season during training camp in a "reality TV" format. Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff seems to be seriously considering it: "I truly believe that an organization has to be in the right spot to jump into something like 'Hard Knocks,' " Dimitroff said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I think it sheds a lot of light on our league. This is a league of entertainment. There are some traditionalists that struggle with it, but they have to work against the grain a little bit and see that this is about entertainment. 'Hard Knocks' is a good show for the fan base."

My personal take on it; if I were a GM or a coach I would want no part of it. Modern day athletes find more then enough distractions on their own. While I agree with Dimitroff that the NFL is about entertainment it is also about "duh---winning" with all apologies to Charlie Sheen.

I would want my team to come to training camp focused on preparing for the season, not on developing their post NFL TV careers.
