MTR NHL News: Sharks Attack No Magic in Detriot

Nhl-logo Coming back from 0-3 in a 7 game professional playoff series is tough in any sport, the Detroit Red Wings proved that last night.  The San Jose Sharks held off a late rally to end the series with a 3-2 win.  The wings needed everything to go right to win the game and it just did not happen.

Wings forwards  Johan Franzen missed the game with an ankle injury, Todd Bertuzzi was knocked out of the game in the first period with an upper body injury, and Danny Cleary was carried to the locker room after hitting his head on the ice after a collision with teammate Jiri Hudler.

In the end the Wings just did not have enough to climb the 0-3 mountain.  They gave it a heck of an effort.  Any time a series goes to the 7th game you know it’s a well played series.

Congratulations to the Sharks who now move on to the Western Conference Finals which start this weekend in Vancouver.
