BBQ Tip & Recipe for the Week

BBQ Tip of the Week:  Smoking Whole Turkeys

Aside from being sure to keep the skin on the turkey breast while smoking it, the main thing to do when cooking turkey breast is to take it off immediately when the internal temp reaches 160 degrees F.Wrap it in foil and let it rest for 20 minutes and then enjoy!

Recipe of the Week:  Kansas City Style Rub for Ribs

This week’s recipe features a rub for world famous Kansas City style ribs. The recipe yields a bit more than a cup.

Ingredients

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup paprika

1 tablespoon black pepper

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients together and transfer to an air tight container. The rub may be stored for up to six months.  Finish the ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce & enjoy!
