RECIPE OF THE DAY: KANSAS CITY STYLE BBQ SAUCE
One of the most popular styles of BBQ is Kansas City style. This recipe is a good basic Kansas City style BBQ sauce that can be used on a wide variety of meats. The recipe yields 2 cups of BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
1/4tsp allspice
1/4tsp cinnamon
1/4tsp mace
1/4tsp black pepper
1/2tsp oriental curry powder
1/2tsp chili powder
1/2tsp paprika
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2tsp hot pepper sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup dark molasses
Preparation
Place all of the fry ingredients into a bowl. Add vinegar and stir. Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixture is thoroughly blended.
This sauce can be served at room temperature or heated, which will pull out the flavors of the pepper and spices even more.
