NHL News: Pronger does not Practice – Can Flyers Win Without Him?
All-Star defenseman Chris Pronger did not practice Sunday, leaving in question his availability for Game 3 and beyond of the team's Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Buffalo Sabres. Pronger has not played since March 8 due to a broken bone in his right hand.
The series is tied 1-1 but shifts back to Buffalo for the next two games. The Flyers have looked terrible in the first two games especially on defense and the power play and were lucky to hold onto their win in game two. Without Pronger this series may be all but over when it returns to Philly later in the week.
Philadelphia Flyers coach Peter Laviolette has said he's comfortable with either rookie Sergei Bobrovsky or veteran Brian Boucher in goal but won’t announce who is starting Game 3 until the day of the game.
Though Laviolette is comfortable with his goalie picks it doesn’t seem that his team is comfortable in front of them. The Flyers on paper should be dominating the 7th seed Sabers but they look confused on the ice and seem unprepared for playoff hockey which is strange being their Stanley Cup run from last year.
