NFL News: Is The NFL In Contempt Of Court?

It has not been a very good week for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the 32 owners he represents. First, on Moday Judge Susan Nelson found for the players and issued an injunction thereby temporarily ending the lockout.

Then the owners appealed asking for a stay of the injunction. That request was denied.

Now, it appears the NFL, by continuing to avoid doing "business as usual" may actually be found to be in contempt of court.

The basic logic is as follows: Judge Nelson ordered the NFL to begin conducting "business as usual". Since the NFL is not doing that (coaches and players are not interacting, free agents are not being signed), they are technically violating her orders and are in fact, in contempt.
