NBA News: MRI for Rose
Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was scheduled for a MRI today on his sprained left ankle. Rose suffered the sprain yesterday during game 4 of the first round Eastern Conference playoff series between the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers. After scoring on a driving lay-up to the basket, Rose came down awkwardly on his left ankle with about a minute left in the first quarter. He painfully limped off to the locker room to soon after return to the court in the early portions of the second quarter. Rose finished with 15-points and 10 assists but you can see the sprain denied him his usual explosiveness. It probably factored in the Bulls 89-84 loss to the Pacers.
Bulls Head coach Tom Thibodeau has indicated that the swelling is not bad but the ankle is sore. Rose has been seen wearing a protective walking boot......I like to think this MRI is only a precaution so hopefully there is no significant damage and he would be available for game 5 on Tuesday in Chicago .....nuff said
