MTR NHL News: Flyers Pronger & Carter Out for Series

Nhl%20logo The Philadelphia Flyers were without defenseman Chris Pronger and center Jeff Carter as they lost Game 5 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series to the Buffalo Sabres.

Both players will miss at least the rest of the first round.

Pronger has missed all five games of the series against Buffalo because of a broken hand, which required surgery in mid-March and has sidelined him since.

Carter has a severely sprained MCL in his right knee after colliding knee-on-knee with Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers in Game 4. Carter is wearing on a brace on the knee.

This will make the Flyers chances of coming back from a 3-2 series deficit difficult at best.
