Could Oriole Magic be in the Air?

The Orioles have been a losing team for the past 15 years! The team has consistently been a disappointment to their fans since Jeffrey Maher pulled a fly fly ball out of Tony Tarrasco's glove in 1997.

But this year feels different. The Orioles won their season opener against the Rays behind a dominant performance from Jeremy Guthrie on Friday. The Orioles pulled out an even bigger win on Sunday. In a game the Orioles surely would have lost in past years, the Orioles held on to win. Brian Roberts hit a three-run home run to give the O's a 3-0 lead. Then Nick Markakis made an INCREDIBLE catch in right field to win the game in the bottom of the ninth.

This season already has that feel about it. I know its only game 2, but I am an O's fan and we need anything we can get to cling onto right now. I found myself yelling at the TV when Mike Gonzalez entered the game, remembering back to last year, when he blew 2 straight games in nearly the same situation to loose their first two games. That feeling carried the O's to a horrible first half, as it seemed that loss stuck with them all year long.

I am ready for the Orioles to be competitive again so I can tell all these Boston and New York fans to shut up!

I will have video from the Orioles Home Opener on Monday along with another blog. Stay Tuned all season for Orioles insight
