Coffee People’s Kona Blend the closest thing to being in Hawaii

My family and I were fortune enough to travel to Hawaii in 2004 to mark our 10th Wedding Anniversary.Daddy and Julie in Hawaii

Among the many things we had enjoyed on the islands of Oahu, Maui and Hawaii, the Big Island, was the home-grown Kona coffee.

Kona, bred from rich volcanic ash, has a bold, yet smooth quality, that once drunken, one never forgets the taste.

Before I begin this opinion, let me state that I am discussing coffee in the realm of Kuerig coffee pods only.

That being said, and with all apologies, I tried the Tully’s Kona Extra Bold and did not like it as a representation of Kona coffee.

My wife, as she does, did some research and talked to co workers, who told her about Coffee People Kona Blend Island Style.Coffee-people-kona-blend

We decided to give it a whirl.

Upon first taste, it tasted kinda bold. The after taste: nothing.

Bingo. Hazaa.

Kona coffee.

I will forgive the extra boldness, if only slightly, for the Kona property of richness, smoothness, and lack of aftertaste.

Unless you have had true Kona coffee, you don’t know what I am talking about.

I am not here to brag about where I have been, I am just saying that one does not know true Kona, unless one has drunken it.

I guess the same could be said for true New Guinea coffee from Indonesia.

My opinion again, is for Kuerig pod coffee only.

Another way to get true Kona coffee is go to a coffee house that sells it, although it will likely be a blend.

Another way is to go to Hawaii Coffee Company online and order a bag.

Thank you, Coffee People.

I have a wink and a nod to real Kona coffee.
