2011 Las Vegas Locos roster starts to take shape
Sometimes life is just not fair. The Las Vegas Locos will return 23 players who have been parts of two United Football League Championships. Those 23 players include two UFL championship game MVP's in QB Chase Clement and RB Dede Dorsey.
We start to see that the Locos have done a better job identifying productive players and for the most part getting those players not only to stick around, but buy into the Locos ways of doing things. It is no wonder this is the team that has won both UFL championships so far.
Beyond bringing back key offensive players I believe the strength of this team is returning key members along their offensive line. Center Jesse Boone, OT Jason Capizzi, OG Frank Davis, and OG Tavares Washington have all been with the team for both UFL campaigns. The team added OL Andrew Crummey and OT Albert Thurman last year to keep their O line producing at a high level.
Along with that the Locos defense returns all time UFL tackle leader LB Teddy Lehman and sack master DE Erik Henderson. As we can see the Locos have built a UFL dynasty that is clearly the class of this upstart league's field.
That is not to say the Locos do not have their flaws. The Florida Tuskers were able to beat the twice during the 2009 UFL regular season, and again in the 2010 regular season. So far no one has been able to beat them in the UFL Championship game. The Hartford Colonials and Sacramento Mountain Lions also beat the Locos in the 2010 regular season.
What that says is this league is moving towards a parity level that should keep all the UFL games extremely interesting. That is very good thing, as the people that tune in to the UFL see a very fine on the field product.
