Hernandez The Cincinati Reds trailed the Milwaukee Brewers all day, but Ramon Hernandez's three-run shot to the opposite field with two out in the bottom of the ninth put the Reds ahead when it counted.

The Brewers jumped all over Red's starter Edison Volquez, scoring three runs in the first inning. Brewers second baseman Ricky Weeks led-off the game with a homerun to left-centerfield and Carlos Gomez followed with a 429 foot shot to the upper deck in left.

Volquez did not pitch poorly, he threw 21 first pitch strikes to 27 batters and stayed ahead all day, throwing 63 strikes and only 28 balls. He changed speed well and had good movement. leading to five strikeouts.

Drew Stubs (Coors light cold hard blast) and Joey Votto both homered, but it was the Ramon Hernandez show today. He was 4-5, including the big blow.

Milwaukee starter, Yovani Gallardo also pitched well. He went six innings allow seven hits and two earned runs.

Logan Ondrusek picked up the win for the Red's, while Brewers closer and Hernandez victim, John Axford, suffered the loss.

The Brewers did not walk away empty handed. Third baseman Casey McGehee was the receipent of the John Morrell hot of the day award for his nifty glove work, robbing Brandon Phillips of a double in the third inning.

The Red's and Brewers meet again Saturday night. The Red's will send left-hander Travis Wood to face the Brewers newly acquired right-hander Shaun Marcum. First pitch is scheulded for 7:10 ET.
