Who's The MVP Of The League?
Since this is a blog for the Indianapolis Colts, you're probably expecting me to say Peyton Manning.
An obvious choice, and he'll definitely get some votes- but, no.
Yesterday, I made my feelings about Michael Vick pretty clear (yes, I know he hasn't thrown an interception- but he also hasn't played as many games as the other "starting" quarterbacks in the league either).
I hate to say it, but right now the front-runner has to be Phillip Rivers.
What he's doing in San Diego is amazing.
So far in 2010, he's thrown for 2944 yards and 19 touchdowns. Right now, he's on pace to shatter Dan Marino's passing record- and he's doing it without Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson.
Even though the Colts are one of the most banged up teams in the league, Peyton's still had Reggie Wayne and either Garcon or Collie for the entire season.
Rivers is throwing 50+ yard bombs to guys named Seyi Ajirotutu
And Michael Vick's got arguably the best receiving corps in the league (right now). Seriously, how hard can it be to light up one of the most inconsistent defenses in the league when you've got DeSean Jackson to throw to?
And not to be superstitious, but I really hope that Phillip Rivers does win the MVP.
Because every time Peyton Manning wins the MVP, the Colts don't win the Super Bowl.
In fact the last time Indy won the Super Bowl, a Charger was MVP of the league (LaDanian Tomlinson).
