Colts On The Money-line

Some of you already know that I live in Vegas, and this morning something caught my eye: right now the Indianapolis Colts are 3 point underdogs to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ok, I get it. Coming off the bye week, Andy Reid is 11-0, so the odds makers are pretty sure that the (banged up) Colts are going to lose to Philly on Sunday.

I know, I'm a Colts fan- and this is a Colts blog, but I really don't think so.

Not only do I like the Colts, I like them on the money-line.

In the first place, Jacob Tamme (who's no Dallas Clark), looked good last week (six for 65 and a touchdown) and the Eagles have been getting torched by tight ends all year.

Then there's Dimitri Patterson. I know what you're saying... Dimitri who? Dimitri Patterson is the corner back in Philly- not named Asante Samuel.

He's the guy expected to cover Pierre Garcon. Asante Samuel and Reggie Wayne may be pretty evenly matched (maybe), but I'll bet Peyton Manning will take Garcon over Patterson any day of the week.

And Desean Jackson is supposed to be back in action... So what. EaglesColts_711e

Indy's pass defense isn't broken- it's the run defense.

So, what about Michael Vick and Lesean McCoy- those guys could cause some damage.

Except, that the Colts play the Titans twice a year.

Vince Young is Michael Vick's doppelganger and the Colts managed to contain him last year.

And the Colts run defense is terrible- against power running backs. Those shiftier backs, like McCoy (and Chris Johnson), aren't nearly as deadly.

And how about this stat- Andy Reid's Philadelphia Eagles are 0-3 against Peyton Manning and the Colts.

In fact Reid's Eagles have never lost by less than 20 points to Manning and company.

Plus head coach Jim Caldwell is 6-0 against the NFC in the regular season.

I hate to make predictions (I'm a little superstitious), but I'm pretty sure the Colts get the job done in Philly.
