Peyton Manning's Unreasonable Request
Indianapolis Colts quarterback, Peyton Manning, has made a (very) unreasonable request to, Colts GM Bill Polian.
Apparently, the four time NFL MVP, feels that renegotiating his contract right now would be an unnecessary distraction.
He wants to wait until the end of the season.
He's kind of got a point. The Colts have been decimated by injuries (not the least of which is All-Pro tight end Dallas Clark who's out for the season) and Manning wants to concentrate on winning games this season.
And the AFC South is shaping into one of the toughest divisions in football.
Here's the problem.
With or without a collective bargaining agreement, Peyton Manning would become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.
That means that; not only could Indy lose the face of the franchise (and one of the greatest players in league history), they'd end up with nothing to show for it.
There's no way that Bill Polian can honor that request. If Peyton Manning were to become a free agent, nearly every team in the league would be in on the action.
But the solution is really simple.
Just take a look at Tom Brady's contract and add 10%.
