A Ton of Injuries

When I read this morning, that Indianapolis Colts (star) tight end, Dallas Clark, was out indefinitely with a wrist injury I thought it was devastating- for Speed (the guy in my fantasy league that has Dallas Clark as his tight end). Dallas-clark

I wasn't so worried about Indy, because Peyton Manning has so many offensive weapons that they wouldn't miss a beat.

In fact, I kinda thought it was a good thing. Mostly because it meant that the Colts could use another tight end (maybe Brody Eldridge) to block while they still went with three wide outs.

Then I read that Austin Collie had surgery and was out for 2-6 weeks- I started to worry... AustinCollieColts

But, then I thought about how well Blair White's been playing and I felt better. Especially, since Pierre Garcon is back at full strength.Plus,

Indy's best defensive tackle, Antonio Johnson, will be out for a while too. That's a problem... Johnsonfall

Except, that Indy won the Super Bowl in 2007 with the worst (regular season) run defense in the league.

And Joseph Addai will be out for a few weeks  Donald Brown has been injured all year, but he should be ready after the bye) so that could be a problem... Joseph-addaiback

But, I really like Mike Hart (if he'd come out a year earlier, he'd have been a first round pick).

I also like the new guy, Javarris James- who just happens to be the cousin of future (Colts) hall of famer- Edgerrin James.

Javarris James' was an un-drafted free agent this year, but that doesn't mean anything. Arian Foster is one of the top backs in the league and he was un-drafted (the Steelers won a Super Bowl with an un-drafted free agent running back- Willie Parker).

Last year, James was also pretty good as a receiver out of the backfield for the Hurricanes (11 catches for 118 yards). Which is good, since Indy loves to use their backs as receivers.

With all of the injuries stacking up in Indy, it'd be easy to jump off the Colts bandwagon.

But the offense revolves around Peyton Manning, and as long as he's on the field- the Colts are still playoff contenders.
