Troy Aikman in an Eagles Uni? You Must Be Kidding Me
It must have been a slow news day.
Heck, Brett Favre wasn't even retiring, yet. Not this day.
But Troy Aikman said that the Philadelphia Eagles called him in 2002 when Donovan McNabb broke his ankle in a 38-14 win over the Pheonix Cardinals.
McNabb was 20-of-25 passing, with 255 yards and four touchdowns that fateful 2002 Sunday.
Heck, the then mobile McNabb finally stayed in the pocket that day
But Aikman? An Eagle?
Heck, even the great wide reciever Harold Charmichael finished his career as a Cowboy.
Say it ain't so.
The thing I remember about Troy Aikman and the Eagles was when Jerome Brown, Mike Golic and the gang sacked Aikman 11 times in his rookie season in a 24-0 whitewash in 1991.
Fan would have showed Aikman with beer and foul mouths, especially in the days of the 700 level at the old Veterans Stadium.
Was Aikman trying to drum up controversary? Did he wait until Donovan McNabb rode out of town?
We just wouldn't have liked it much.
