Williams MMA Debut a New Breed Success!

Battle Tested!

As every soldier trains to go into battle for the first time there is the question: “How will I respond?”  Though not training for Iraq like the U.S. Army soldier in attendance last night at the New Breed of Fighters event in Atlantic City the question for every MMA fighter remains the same:

“How will I respond?”

Last night, in front of an energetic crowd of nearly a thousand screaming MMA fans, Jon Williams answered that question by showing that all the training, discipline and hard work paid off with a unanimous decision over Mike Annarella.  Williams controlled the fight from the start keeping Annarella on his back most of the match including a nice body slam at the end of the 1st round.

Williams, representing the Ricardo Almeida Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, showed “in the ring” poise equal to that of the more experienced fighters on the bill.  He aggressively set the tone of the fight, while smartly taking what Annarella would give him without opening up himself for a counter attack.

The bout went the distance with a unanimous 30-27 set of scores from the three judges.  The decision for Williams fighting out of the Blue Corner set off a huge roar from the crowd.

Overall a great debut for the promising young fighter.
