Scotty Bowman of the Montreal Canadiens
One of the greatest coaches in the history of hockey Scotty Bowman who led the Montreal Canadiens to five Stanley Cups, may well be the greatest of all-time in the minds of many people. Overall, his teams have won 9 Stanley Cups a record itself.
Bowman holds the record for the most wins in the regular season with 1244, most win in the post-season with 223, the most wins in a season with 62, the record for winning the Championship with most teams with 3 and the only Coach to make the playoffs every season he coached the whole season! He coached partial seasons with Buffalo and those were his only years not in the playoffs.
Bowman has also been in the front office of three clubs who have won the Stanley during his stay there, the most recent is the present Chicago Blackhawks! How good is he? The only record I know of that he doesn;t hold is winning 5 straight Stanleys with the Canadiens!!!
