Happy Birthday, Al Davis!
True, it's a day early, but since I'm going to be out tomorrow....have a good one Al.
If there ever was a person who has black blood in one wrist, and Silver in the other, it has to be this guy.
After all, just about everything that happens within the Raiders' organization, flows through this man's veins. Signing, contracts, press releases, even firings, originate from this one man.
Running the organization like a dictatorship, Al simply controls things, because it is the only way he knows how to get things done....absolute control, be it knowing who your friends are or controlling access to the media, either you respect the man for what he allows, or enjoy the trip out the door, for you won't be in Al's house long.
His way, for those who forget, is the way to three rings, a number of AFC championship games and enough Hall of Fame players to field a team...Al knows more about football than probably anyone alive....and while frail and old...still has the widsom that some could only wish they had.
Happy birthday Al....enjoy your day .
Just don't burn down the house with all those candles.
