Could Richard Seymour's lack of a deal cause issues in Oakland?
From the start, Oakland sounded upbeat about signing Richard Seymour to a long-term deal. After all, Oakland had traded a first round pick to New England, the assumption would be that Oakland would have him longer than the two seasons.
Now, with his single year deal, some are starting to wonder if he'll be here after this season, or will he go for the money, should the Raiders do well this season.
It also opens a second set of questions, if the Raiders are going to run into trouble signing their last two remaining draft picks, Lamarr Houston and Rolando McClain before camp opens on the 28th.
As it stands, Seymour's job is directly tied to how well Lamarr Houston plays, giving the Raiders a vet and a rookie looking forward. Likewise, the Raiders' hope for defense rests on McClain becoming the next great middle linebacker in Oakland....helping to stop the bleeding that has run unabated for seven years.
Much will be head of, during the next week....Get ready, Raider Nation....it's almost time.
