Volchenkov Update; Spezza Happy In Ottawa

A little new news on the Volchenkov front right now. According to a Washington Capitals insider, The Capitals aren't looking to make an offer to Volchenkov on July 1st. The word is that Volchenkov's price tag of 5 million is likely to go up when teams start to make him offers, and the Capitals don't seem to interested at that point.

Earlier I did however mention two other teams are interested in the services of Volchenkov. The Rangers and Canucks are those two teams and Bryan Murray has reportedly made some phone calls on negotiating rights. Murray is looking for either a 2nd or 3rd round pick in return for talking to the star defense men. I will keep the updates coming in when I get them!

In other news, and article came out a few days back saying Spezza has requested a trade and is not happy in Ottawa. Well another article was published today out of CBC that had Spezza commenting on questions.

"I don't have a no-trade now, so if they trade you, then you get traded," Spezza said. "Obviously, I've signed there, so I'm happy to be there. And we're looking forward to the future." READ MORE

That no-trade clause Spezza is talking about is his no-trade clause that doesn't kick in until July 1st. So quite frankly, the article published about Spezza not being happy is garbage and clearly he wants to play for Ottawa and stay a Senator.

And for some of you, there has been a facebook group created to ''Keep Jason Spezza", so check it out and join!

Anyway, I am just finishing up my top 5 possible draft choices for the Senators at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. I should have something posted tomorrow for you good folks!
