In 1939 the Yankees became the first AL team to make it four straight pennants. They also became the first and only team to win four straight World Series.
In 1943 they became the first team to win 7 pennants in 8 years.
Two for the price of one. In 1942 the Yankees on August 14th turned 7 double plays against the Philadelphia A's, a Major League record to this day.
In 1936 Bill Dickey hit .362 which is to this day the all-time highest single season batting average for a catcher. 1936 also had another milestone for the Bombers. They had 5 players with over 100 RBIs for the season. This was the first team to ever reach this achievement. Lou Gehrig had 152, DiMaggio 125, Lazzeri 109, Dickey and Selkirk 107.
The biggest shutout win ever by the Bombers was a 21-0 pounding of the Philadelphia A's on August 13, 1939.
