The Warriors face off against the Kings tonight, in what should be the game of the week......Nahhhh, don't think so. Both teams are off to not so great starts, with injuries becoming a major problem for both teams.
Sacramento: They will be without their star player, Kevin Martin, for at least 6 weeks, with a wrist injury.
Golden State: They are without both of their 2 most important big men, Andris Biedrins and Ronny Turiaf, both are day to day.
The Kings will be looking upon for their 1st round pick out of Memphis, Tyreke Evans to rise up to the occasion and help out the depleted Kings. Evans has looked very strong so far in the early season, making some eyebrows raise. Kings fans won't be disappointed in Evans, he will turn out to be a fine player in this league.
Last game against the Clippers, the Warriors had a tough time taking care of the basketball and re-bounding. They need to do a good job this time around. I'm sure Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson will be just as tough down in the block then Kaman and Camby.
The Warriors must work for good shots and not just fire up threes and jumpers all game long....work the ball around. Monta Ellis will be able to get what he wants at the basket. He has that kind of explosiveness to drive right by the defender and create his own shot. I would like to see Stephen Curry get more opportunities shooting the ball. I know his job is to control the team, but he's capable of making shots himself. More of the same with Anthony Morrow, he has played well the last 2 games, I look for Morrow to continue.
In order for the Warriors to win, they can't allow the Kings to dominate them in the re-bound department. Make sure your back on defense and stop complaining to the refs if you don't get a call your way. And Jackson needs to stop being damn selfish. Pass the ball for once and get your teammates involved. The Warriors can win this game, it's just the matter of getting good looks at the basket and re-bounding the ball.
Take care. From Yours Truly, ScottyK
