Yankees Can't Pull Out Tight Game

Mike_mussina The sixth inning was the undoing of Mike Mussina and the New York Yankees. He gave up 3 runs and did not make it through the inning. He threw 51 of 71 pitches for strikes but just could not get the job done against the hated Red Sox.

Other than the one bad inning, the Yankees pitchers, including Mussina, looked good. Bruney and Hawkins each had scoreless outings.

The issue again was the Yankees hitting or lack there of. The Bombers only had 6 hits and again looked over anxious at the plate swing at too many first pitches. The loss of Derek Jeter can not be overlooked but this did not look like the team that led the league in scoring last year. The bats need to wake up and wake up now. They NEED to win tomorrow and get back in front of the Boston Beantowners.
