OMGZ I R BACKZ

Holy Molely!!!!! what has it been like a year or what? Ehh it was the offseason what can i say :/ ....

But i'm back and looking to blog about the RRRRRRRRRRRRRaiders!!!!!!!!!!!

A few quick hits about the roster 1st-

• SO, SO, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy WR Nick Miller made the roster. This guy played his butt off and IMO deserved to land on the active roster. He has the heart to be a contributer to the team, and the athletic ability. Only thing that he has against him is his small size which could lead to him getting lost and being a non factor in the passing game. But he'll take over returning duties for the recently released CB Justin "DHall #2" Miller.
• Speaking of Justin Miller, REALLY REALLY glad he got shown the door, he was lost everytime he dropped back in coverage.  
• Sands gone = :D  
• Sam Williams still on the roster = :'( 
• Desmond Bryant a beast in the making.  
• Jeff Garcia.... Dont let the door hit ya on the way out......ASS.......
•  Slade Norris and Jerome Boyd signed onto the practice squad- SOLD...FUTURE LB and CB in the NFL . 
• Rankin take a number only way u get decent playing time is if a RB goes down *cough* Fargas *cough*  
• Watkins dont get comfy u'll be the 1st one to be cut to bring in someone new.    

 Now the MILLION dollar question whats gonna happen with newly acquired Richard Seymour?

:/ well i think its the typical national media BS. Yea he's not in Oakland yet, but hey this is proabbly how things are going. 

Sunday morning:  What a great day in Boston.... Ring...Hello, ooo hai der Coa...Wut? 0_o......Click.......damn, thats the nfl for you...

Sunday afternoon: Honey, do you remember that vacation we took to Cali a few years back...and how you said you loved it there....Well guess what....I kno, i kno baby its gonna be okay, the kids are gonna love it there too i know they will.....

Sunday evening:  Yea mom..... i had no clue...need to go back tomorrow and get my things... i will mama...yes i kno...will do mama....yes  i told everybody as soon as i let it sink in...yea im going too

Monday (Labor Day)- Hello, ooo hai Mr. Davis...how much do i want? umm i havent really thought about it...

Honey lets not worry about it, things will work themselves out, lets just enjoy our last few days here and look forward to our life in Cali...its labor day lets just deal with it tomorrow...

Sooo to think hes gonna hold out doubt it. He was traded without looking to be traded and like any other human being is taking surprising news... cautiously. 

Once he's hear though is a different issue, he needs to sign a contract extension now and be happy with what hes getting, the guy has a history of holding out...TWICE... and if he held out after being on a championship team imagine once he is here in Oaktown :/.....not good news...ONLY way that this trade can benefit the Raiders in any way...

So yea its been a crazy few days and i am sure its gonna get a bit crazier as the season gets closer and some real fooball begins :) 

And So It Begins....

In the words of Lil Jon, "YEAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!" 

LOL. Man the Bucs game was an awesome game to watch for any Raider fan. Russell looked good 2 weeks in a row :O who'da thunk it? But man, Cha-Cha-Chaz Schilens continues to impress as does lil Johnny. Miller had a quiet day but ehh its ok he did more than the stats show. And the future (hopefully) bruiser back Michael Bush just flat out dominated on the ground. HAHAHA, im writing this like almost a good 2 weeks after the game but its still fresh in my mind how good Bush did against that Tampa D. Now thats the way to close out a season, on 2 strong back-to-back wins against a good offense and against a good defense. Now the offseason begins and only time will tell whats gonna happen. 

Rumors have already been spiraling out of the media that Mr. Al "Its-time-to-retire" Davis has already started contacting ppl for the "vacant" head coaching job. Personally, i agree with Cable's stance that the team needs consistency in the HC spot and coaches. But at the same time I dont think Cable is the head coach type. 

So yeaa,that was my little belated rant, my next post will be a good one, ima talk about moves i think the Raiders need to make on their current roster, its gonna be sweet :D

New Blogger Takin' Over!!!

Hey folks welcome to my new Raiders Blog!!!!!! LOL!!! I am so excited to start this "project" and I'm even more excited that i get to write about my FAVORITEST team EVER :D, the Oakland RAIDERS!!!!!! 

 

My name is Daniel, im 20 years old, and I’m currently a student at UC-Davis.I have been a Raiders since roughly 1998 give or take a few years, not a whole lot of time, but enough, i think to classify myself as die hard fan especially since I have witnessed the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of this franchise. And I don’t have any plans to change allegiances anytime soon, cuz im hardcore like that ;) 

 

I have a kinda bipolar view on things sometimes; I’ll be gung-ho and have a positive outlook on things but other times I’ll get a little gloomy and depressing. For the most part tho I write with a good spin so no Zantac need here :D.

 

Ooo and if u haven’t noticed yet I use alllllooottt of “e-lingo” or Internet talk. “LOL” most likely will be my most overused and abused e-term. Sometimes I can’t help myself and I over use language but I think it help separate me from the rest of these sports bloggers because ill be writing in a conversational and casual manner.

 

So yea that’s a brief little write up of myself and such, will be going on a short vacation but I shall be back after the new year with my view of the Buc game this coming Sunday, tho I smell a spoiled playoff run… and there are plenty of little tidbits that ima get into regarding this once awesome franchise. We can only stay down for so long!!!!

SAME OLD RAIDERS

Another week and the same old Raiders were out there again.  No discipline, 10 penalties for 90 yards.  JaMarcuss only gets to throw the ball 11 times in the hyper conservative Offense.  Another half of football with NO offensive TD's.  McFadden still limping. Al up in the box  looking for loose change on the floor.  Nothing ever changes.

BUT, we win.  Thats right, not only did we get a win, it was a smack down of our most hated rivals.  31-10, on the road of the freaking broncos. 

10 Penalties, but that didn't kill us for once.  JaMarcuss only threw 11 times, he did complete 10 of them and looked comfortable and confident in the pocket.  D-Mac Limped his way into the endzone.  The crypt keeper didn't Screw anything up because he was too busy looking at shinny things.

I know the season is over, been so for a while.  The point is it was a win and a win over a team I HATE.  Add that to the Jets win and I'm a less disgusted than usual as a Raider fan today.  This Monday is a day to look at the positives for once.

Mr. Russel looks like he took a solid step forward and might have a chance to be "the MAN" someday.  He needs weapons, but it is a hell of a lot easier to find a WR or two than a franchise QB.

Shane Lechler is GOD of all punters.  Man is a monster and if it wasn't for the player with the shortest name in NFL history he would be the best Raider punter ever.

The D is solid this season.  Considering the amount of time they have spent on the field their numbers are great.  Our CB with the eye chart for a name is the best cover corner in the game and we have looked solid at LB for the last few games.

So Raider fans Go grad a beer and bask in a victory.  We don't often get to do it.  Remember it could be worse, we could be Lions fans.

NO OFFENSE=NO WINS

Another Raider Game and yet another day with NO offensive TDs.  Since the 3rd quarter of the Ravens game the Silver and Black's offense has not been able to find the endzone.  That is 13 quarters without a TD.  YOU DON'T WIN IN THE NFL, NCAA, HIGH SCHOOL OR FREAKING POP WARNER, with stats like that. 

Here's a few other Gems from the most recent stretch of HELL we have gone through as Raider fans.  41 firsts downs IN 4 GAMES.  That's 10 per game and that's not pretty.  If you take away the Carolina game (where their O actually looked worse than the Raiders) things are even more pathetic.  No ground game, No Air attack, Hell the most valuable offensive weapon on the Raiders is the Punter.  If it wasn't for Lechler, the games wouldn't have been as close as they were.

Even with yesterdays horror show of an offensive display, Oakland still had a chance to win. The problem is how do you expect a defense that NEVER gets off the field to contain the opposition late in the game.  YOU CAN'T AND WE DON'T.  As a result of this yet another late lead blow.

What is the answer. A real OC and and some focus as to where the team is going.  I don't know if JaMarcus will ever be the answer at QB.  We won't know for sure until he gets some real NFL calliber WR's to throw to.  Right now the O is so bad you can't judge Russel, but we can judge the management of the team and their grade is an F.  No questions asked

OK at least the Raiders can't SUCK any worse

We have reached the low point.  I've seen some pretty heinous efforts out of the silver and black in recent times, but yesterday was the worst.  It wasn't enough that we got pimp slapped like a cheap whore, but we also got picked apart by a ROOKIE QB.  We had the honor of watching the Chosen Raider QB go 6 for 19, while MATT RYAN goes 17-22 and looks like the his last name is Manning. 

I have to give some credit to our D for only giving up 24 points.  When the other team has the ball for 45 MINUTES, It isn't fun to be on the Defense.  The Raiders got 3 first downs, not in a half, but in the entire game.  The level of ineptitude that was shown yesterday is mind blowing.  It took 35 minutes before the Raiders go their initial first down of the game.  3 and out was the norm for the Offense.  Out of the 99 Plays ran in the game the Raiders offense only had 30.  Finishing the first half with -2 yards of offense.

Thank god for Shane Lechler.  If he it wasn't for the best punter punter in the NFL it could have even been worse, not much worse, but still worse.  Lechler should be a very good punter, he gets more than enough work

Back to my man JaMarcuss, how the heck does the man with the "golden arm" not complete a pass for more than 7 yards through out the course of an NFL game.  6 completions to 3 receivers and only one catch by a wide out, is mind blowing.  Take away his two 20+ yard scrambles and he might have had the worst day of a QB in NFL history. It's not like he was playing against the '85 Bears.  This was a 4-3 Falcon team that was giving up 22 points per game.  Yet we made them look like a combo of the Steel Curtain and the Doomsday defense.

Ok that's enough of this for today.  Tomorrow, I'll have my thoughts on what needs to be done with this horror show of a franchise.  Gonna go check out E-bay for some discount Raider Merchandise.  If it' not broken I'm sure it's cheap

Falcons coming to town

OK, so it's week 9 in the NFL and THE RAIDERS get a visit from the Falcons.  Atlanta has been one of the surprise teams in the league this season.  With the former face of the franchise wearing an orange jumpsuit now and a lifelong back up as their halfback, expectations weren't high for the Falcons.  Yet, we get a 4-3 team coming on Sunday.

Matt Ryan has looked like the real deal at QB.  As a Raider fan I wish I could say the same about JaMarcuss.  In the Falcons 4 wins he has been solid as a rock and sometimes excellent-See the end of the Bears game.  He looks like he belongs on an NFL field after only 7 games.  The Raiders DBs should get a workout and the D line needs to get in Ryan's face.  No matter how good a first year player looks, pressure quickly turns them into rookies.

Micheal Turner, LT's former caddy, started out on fire but has hit the skids of late and the same goes for the speedster Jerrious Norwood.   Keeping these to in their current doldrums will be a big factor in deciding this one.  If these two wake back up it will show how bad the Raiders 26th ranked run D really is.

Defensively the Falcons have been solid but far from spectacular.  They have given up points to good offenses, the problem is the Raiders don't have a good offense.  Something is going to have to open up for the Raiders to have a chance in this one.

The Raiders are going to have to establish there running attack early to keep pressure off of Russel.  We have seen how "sir drops alot" reacts to the pocket collapsing.  The lack of a true GO TO wide receiver isn't helping the air attack.

With McFadden now having turf toes on BOTH FREAKING FEET, it might be time to try a different pair of cleats.  The running game falls back onto Fargas and Bush.  While Huggy Bear junior is a solid back, he doesn't strike fear into D's like D-mac does.

Bottom line is right now the Falcons are a better team and as hard as this is for me to type.....Atlanta wins 24-10.

Notes from the crypt keepers office:

Al Davis heard rumor that former Heisman winner Charlie Ward was no longer playing for the Knicks.  He quickly had a contract offer sent over.

Does anyone else think Al is going to remember that Matt Millen is a former Raider and hire him as a SPECIAL ASSISTANT to THE KEEPER.

Al had Lane Kiffins picture put up his dart board, it replace the picture of Mike Shannahan, which replace the picture of Pete Rozzelle.

Al is up to 4 naps a day.

Depends has contacted Al about being a spokes man.  AL is holding out till they come out with a line of Swimmy Depends, so he can hang in the hot tub.

I'm BACK

After a self imposed one week hiatus to attend "FREAKING RAIDERS anger managment" classes, I have returned to The Rant.  HERE GOES

We shall not mention last weeks Debacle in New Orleans.  It makes no sense to comment on how amazingly bad the Raiders looked in the second half of that game.  Suffice to that game was harder to watch than the Vern Troyer sex tape.....if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about.

On to the happy recap.  Have I ever mentioned that I HATE the j-e-t-s SUCK SUCK SUCK.  As a resident of the fine state of New Jersey I am constantly assaulted by the lowest of the low when it comes to sports fans, that being Eagle and Jet fans.  Lets see combined they have 1 freaking Super bowl win.  1, uno, single win.  Yet they are arrogant beyond belief about their teams.  Having to constanly deal with the inane ramblings of these sub-human fanatics has caused the deep hatred I have for both of these franchises.  As a result of this a win over the Jets is VERY SWEET indeed.

While our Raiders were far from domintant at any point in this game, they one.  As a Raider fan we have become numb to late game collapses, hell we've had 2 this year already, and looked like we were heading for number 3. 

Tough defensive game, back and forth some nice redzone D and the game is 10-10 in the forth.  Than we take the lead of a Seb Jack field goal.  Every Raider fan thought one thing.....WE'RE LOSING THIS ONE.  Raiders fans are used to it by this point.  Jet's get the ball back and sort of get into field goal range for the 75 year old Jay Feeley.  Feeley unloads and Bang hits a post.  Great.  BUT WAIT.  Our new head coach tries something he has seen before.  The last second freeze the kicker timeout.  DIDN'T HE FREAKING SEE THIS FAIL IN THE DALLAS GAME LAST WEEK.  So Grandpa Jay gets another shot and we are heading to OT. 

Back and forth we go always with that sick feeling in our stomaches.  Their isn't a Raider fan out their that didn't think that Janikowski was going to hook the 57 yarder and set the Jets up with prime field position to pull out the win.  THAN BANG, he hits the damn thing and the Raiders actually pull off a clutch win.

Now there was alot of negatives in this one. Penalities for staters. 14 of them isn't pretty.  Giving up 242 on the ground is another big No No.

But, yesterday is about the positives.  JaMarcuss looked decent at  QB.  Actually looked very good on the move and another INT free game.  The pass D was solid and Lechler is a BEAST.  Put all that together with a win and I didn't have to use what I learned at the shrinks last week

WEEK 6 PICKS

OK so I just typed up this great run down of all the games, very witty if I do say so myself go to post it and BANG it disappears into the abyss of the Internet.  Needless to say I am not a happy camper right now.  So instead of throwing my laptop across the office here is the condensed Cliff's notes version of the Week 6 picks.

Bears 28  Falcons 14  Atlanta's overachieving takes a week off.  Dah Bears are coming together

Panthers 31  Bucaneers 17 Carolina has the look of a true title contender and Tampa's Offense just looks confused

Redskins 35 Rams 7 Washington has turned it around since week 1 and St. Louis is a freaking train wreck

Dolphins 17 Texans 10  Surprising Miami is going to take advantage of a BAD and demoralized Houston squad

Colts 28  Ravens 10  Indy is pumped after the big comeback and Baltimore's O is anemic

Vikings 35 Lions 0  Matt Millen built this Detroit team, enough said.

RAIDERS 24 Saints 17  New Orleans doesn't recover from the heart breaker to the Vikes and DA RAIDERS start Mr. Cable's tenure off with a big W

Jets 35  Bengals 21 Dallas tried to give Cinci the game last week and they still blew it.  Farve and Co. won't try as hard to let them win.

Broncos 31 Jaguars 14  Bronco's D looks to have turned the corner finally.  How did Matt Jones get off with a slap on the wrist after getting caught doing blow off the dash of his car in a parking lot is beyond me and how is he playing?

Cowboys 28  Cardinals 24  Biggest game for Arizona in years.  They will do like they always do and BLOW IT

49ers 21 Eagles 17  No Westbrook equals Eagles Loss

Packers 30  Seahawks 10  If it weren't for Detroit, Seattle would be the worst team in the NFL

Patriots 24  Chargers 21 Moss and Cassel seem to have something going on and the Chargers look way off their game.

Giants 38  Browns 10  Giants looking like a super bowl team and the Browns look like a team that has never made it to a super bowl

Week 5 Review

OK we did not have to suffer through another Raider loss this weekend because they were off.  Even better it's been 5 days without a cryptkeeper press conference from Uncle Al.  Something a little different today, let's see what happend to the rest of the leagues.

Chicago Kicked some Lion Tail as expected.  It does my Silver and Black heart well to look at Detroit.  Not only are they awful, they have always been awful. 42 Years and zero Super Bowl appearances, at least they won't be drafting a WR in the first round next year, with since Mustache Matt got Das Boot.

Atlanta beats the Packers, WOW didn't see this one coming.  I thought Rosie O'Donnell had a better shot of being voted Sexiest woman alive than Matt Ryan did of winning in Green Bay.  Ryan did just enough not to lose and M. Turner is flourishing outside of LT's shadow.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND to the Chargers.  They Smack the J-E-T-S and then comeback against Da Raiders.  So you figure they are rolling.  No way the lose to The Tuna and the Phins.  A heavy does of Ronnie Brown and Chad not screwing up equals a Bolt's loss. 

Watching the Giants and the Seahawks yesterday I felt like dialing 911.  The was a BEAT DOWN of epic proportions.  Going in I knew that the Seahawks were banged up.  They left that game a total disaster.  Going to be a LONG season in the Pacific Northwest.

These are not last years Skins my friends.  Jim Zorn has mixed up the O and Jason Campbell has figured it out.  Add in the fact that the D has stepped it up a notch and Washington can do some Damage in the NFC East.

OK the real Chiefs are back.  The WORST team in the NFL came back down to earth and the Panthers took full advantage of it.  If LJ isn't running wild and free KC doesn't belong on the field with ANYONE.

The Titans are 5-0 and Being led by their QB and their D.  Before the season started this statement didn't sound to far fetched, only thing is the QB isn't VY, it's Kerry Collins.  Baltimore's D  is solid as ever but with NO consistent ground game helping him out against a solid D Joe Flacco looked like a rookie yesterday.

Colts with a HUGE comeback yesterday.  This was the Colts season yesterday, down by 17 with 8 minutes to go they had 1-3 start staring them straight in the face.  A mixture of Peyton, tough D and the secret ingredient-A dash of Rosenfels, led them to a 31-27 win and might have saved '08 in Indy.

The much maligned Broncos D made a big comeback yesterday against Tampa.  On a D where the Bucs were able to hold Cutler and Co. to 16 points the Bronco's day stepped it up a few notches and the Bronco's moved to 4-1.

Cowboys should have put a hurting on the Bengals,  but a few mental errors and some nice work by the Bengals offense made it a game, kind of.  Cowboys were never REALLY threatend in this one and Cinci is still trying to find their first W.

So much for the Bills 4-0 start.  The Cardinals bounced back in a BIG way from an awful extended east coast trip and knocked the bills from the undefeated ranks and also might have knocked Trent Edwards out for a while.  Kurt Warner was very efficient and the rest of the WR crew made up for the loss of Boldin.

Randy Moss did a very good job of forgetting that TB wasn't throwing him the ball yesterday.  The Pats bounced back from a loss before their bye and the with the extra week off Matt Cassel seemed much more comfortable in the starting roll.

Big Ben with the Big game the Steelers needed from him, add in Mwelde Moore going from waivers to 99 yards and you get a solid Pittsburg win.
